Q2 2026 Product Recap
Q2 2026 Product Recap

In Q2, we kept building on checkout, made analytics more precise, and put AI directly into core workflows. Here's what shipped between April 1 and June 30.
The Platform Gets Smarter with AI
We shipped three AI tools this quarter, each aimed at a different part of the workflow.

The @intelligems Slack Bot went live for everyone in April. Mention @intelligems in any channel to ask about test performance, get alerts when a test hits significance, or escalate straight to support without leaving Slack.
In May, we built AI directly into the product. The AI Visual Builder lets you describe an on-site change in a sentence and get back a brand-matched modification, ready to test or personalize. Sitewide Analytics also added an AI summary and follow-up chat that is reactive to whatever page or filter you're looking at. Both are now live to all customers.
@intelligems Slack Bot: alerts, Q&A, and support escalation, available on every plan
AI Visual Builder: describe a change, get a ready-to-test mod
Sitewide Analytics AI Summary & Chat: reactive to your current filters, with follow-up questions, now live to all customers
All of these features are available on all plans
Checkout Gets New Tools
We added rule-based upsells, a native post-purchase offer, and new ways to build urgency.

Checkout can now recommend a different product depending on what's already in a shopper's cart. Set a rule like "if cart subtotal is over $75, show this accessory instead of the default upsell," and checkout swaps the product automatically. The built-in cart tester lets you check the result before it goes live.
In June, we extended that logic past checkout with Post-Purchase Upsells (Beta). You can now present a targeted offer between the checkout page and the thank-you page, fully native to Shopify's checkout flow. Dedicated metrics shipped alongside both features, so you can track upsell revenue and adoption from day one, including a new time-series view in personalizations.
The Countdown Timer checkout block rounds things out, giving you a way to add sale-deadline or per-visitor urgency timers in three styles: text, digital clock, or an inline pill.
Dynamic Checkout Upsells: target by product, tag, collection, subtotal, or item count (Shopify Plus only)
Post-Purchase Upsells (Beta): a one-click offer after checkout on the order confirmation page
Countdown Timer: three display styles with configurable colors and expired-state behavior
Checkout and Post-Purchase Upsell metrics now track revenue and order share over time
Analytics Gets Sharper
We made it easier to measure results precisely and target the right customers.

Post-Test Metrics let you compare a winning variant's in-test performance against its performance after full rollout, with custom date windows for both periods. It's especially useful for subscription price tests, where the real impact plays out over months.
A new Customer Type filter now lets you segment results by new vs. returning customers. On the targeting side, you can now scope Offers to one-time purchases, subscriptions, or both, which matters for brands running different upsell strategies for each.
Post-Test Metrics: compare in-test vs. post-test performance with custom date ranges
Customer Type filter: segment by new or returning customers in test and personalization analytics
All of these features are available on all plans
Also Shipped in Q2
Sitewide Analytics picked up landing page filters, an Order Value toggle for free orders, a "Same day, prior week" comparison period, full country names, and an affiliate channel filter. You can pull it all through the External API, MCP, and the Slack bot.
The Sitewide Analytics Conversion page (sankey-style funnel view) available to all customers.
"Include Free Orders" toggle in analytics lets you include zero-revenue orders in your results. The filter section has been renamed from "Min/Max Revenue" to "Order Value.”
Component setup instructions now show directly in offer modification views.
Checkout block images now support percentage-based sizing for more responsive layouts.
Trust badges and upsell block previews got sizing and image-width improvements.
Gift with Purchase now lets shoppers pick their variant instead of receiving a default one.
Split URL tests now include a CSS/JS code editor for modifications, consistent with other test types.
Offer progress bars now advance only when a shopper adds an eligible product to cart.
Fixed-amount offer discounts now convert correctly to local currency on Shopify Markets stores.
Agency portal brand management is now fully self-serve: assign or remove plans, cancel pending downgrades, or remove brands directly.
